Recently we met Buffa, the dog with a blog, in our Powwow with a Bow Wow feature. Here we meet Kimberley, who lives with Buffa!

Name: Kimberley
Lives: North London
What do you do? Dance Facilitator and Buffamom
How long have you been a dog owner? I've been Buffamom for nearly 5 yrs
What made you want to become a dog owner? Always wanted a dog, everyone should have a dog, life is never dull with a dog. I can't begin to describe how much this little dog has enriched my life.
Have you always been a dog owner? (If not, what did you do beforehand?) Classical ballet dancer and Theatre General Manager
What’s your favourite part of your job? Being with Buffa
How do you keep your skills up to date? Do you have any favourite websites that you use? Myitchydog.co.uk is great for articles and herbal products plus Stan Rawlinson the Doglistener.co.uk is awesome plus I love Cesar Milan.
Why did you think learning first aid for dogs was important to you? Thinking about being back-up walker to a friend's dog-walking business plus it's got to be a good idea as dogs get themselves into all sorts of scrapes.
What was the most valuable piece of information your gained from the first aid for dogs course? CPR and what to do if a dog is drowning or choking
What qualities do you think are important in a dog owner? Love and attention to your dog. Observe them and try to understand how the world is for them. It can be tough to live in a human world.
Have you learnt anything surprising about dogs from having one? They are far more intelligent than most people give them credit for. I like the way they shake off things, I can see after a good shake my boy is ready for the next thing in life and off we go. So I learned it was important for me too so we reset and off we go together. I always reset if we have been through anything difficult like me getting cross cos he's rolled in fox poo!
What’s your top tip for caring for dogs? Love and attention and do the research for what's best to feed your dog, so much commercial dog food is rubbish. It will keep you out of the vets in the end and give your dog a longer life.
Have you had an amusing experiences in you life as a dog owner? Being a Patterdale Terrier it's mostly drama and scrapes with Buffa but we laugh later, like the time he disappeared for a heart-stopping 20 minutes before re-appearing minus his harness. We thought he must have got caught in a thicket somewhere and have never used a harness since. And he loves to steal our socks in the morning; we find them strewn around the living room - very annoying!
Which dog would you most like to walk? Anyone with a Great Dane or a Hungarian Vizla. I adore these dogs but they are too big for us to have one.
